CTR is a real master,so much so that he doesn"t have the pride (need to) display the incredible wisdom & power that he carries. his presence shows how he walks the walk not just talk the talk.the teaching of the buddha teaches us to be open to all people &situations, CTR is a living example of this, he has incredible discipline to sit there & allow krishnamurti to patronize him, when i see that krishnamurti is purifying his obscurations in the presence of Trunpa's blazing compassionate presence.

To observe doesn't ...( 1 year ago by willowtale)
To observe doesn't imply any such thing. However, as with anything, it depends on how one goes about observing. Also, I don't find any fixation on attaining anything from K. If you're familiar with his written word, he continually emphasizes there should be no goal, no attainment, no practice and thus no conflict. Quietness of the mind isn't the goal, for to make it such spins the wheel of conflict. This is ju st my understanding, and not meant to be anyone else's or yours. Peace.

Poor Jiddu. A lovely man, but unfortunately oblivious to what's going on here, and looks quite silly and pompous up against Chogyam's calming and indulgent presence. (It's always important to pay attention to whether you're answering questions you have yourself asked. And never a good sign when you catch yourself doing i t.)

You're assuming ...( 1 year ago by hristoitchov)
You're assuming things and passing judgement. Krishnamurti waits for response on several occasions and notices Chogyam chooses to remain quiet and just listen instead. Plus as in all Krishnamurti dialogs with another person, he usually discusses things before the video is recorded, so it's quite possible the two of them arranged the whole thing like that on purpose, similar to the way it was done with David Bohm. It's not like Krishnamurti can't listen... that's just nonsense.
The whole of ...( 1 year ago by amethod75)
The whole of Krishnamurti's comments was about not depending on pattern, and that depending on such patterns is a dead end. Yet here we are, all 5 parts of this video, concerned that this video doesn't follow the pattern of "an interview" or "a conversation". I find this entertaining...
You realize ...( 1 year ago by hristoitchov)
You realize Krishnamurti does this because of an invitation? He was never one to seek interviews and dialogs on TV, and from what I've read he often put on some sort of an act, just to get done with it. It is totally irrelevant whether he does what he talks about or not in front of the camera, he is most likely doing it consciously. Besi des, Chogyam really decides to keep quiet and listen, that is obvious enough. You speak of patterns, yet you can't see your own patterns that pass judgement.

Who is saying its quite clear? When The buddha sat in profound meditation he listened to avalokiteshvara who explained the Prajnaparamita to Shariputra, who listened respectfully to Avalokiteshvara's explanation. The words -it is said- were fundamentally inspired by the profound presence of the Buddha anyway. it seems there is a lot of listening at the heart of them both. Krishnamurti has always been a passionate verbalist. Trungpa always Dzogchen..2 rivers merging in same ocean, eventually.

thank you. it seems to make conclusions is misleading anyway, since the nature of things are impermanent. perhaps that is why i had trouble following his reasoning. but who am i to assume where K is coming from? that would also be a judgement. (my last post was in fact that) chogyam trunpa teaches to be the journey (goal) & destination @the same time. i understand the teaching of the buddha to be open to all situations & people (inclusivity)...no attachment to the extremes of samsara or nirvana.

I knew both of these guys way back then ... and I must say, as you can see in this video, K dominates, he interrupts Chogyam and basically puts him down - and stays fixated on thinking about not thinking ... in contrast, Chogyam simply 'is' there already. I learned a lot from K ... but I learned the actual process of meditation from Chogyam. At this late date, I don't listen or read K anymore ... but I do meditate ... thanks, Chogyam.

Not true. If you look closer at Rinpoche's stillness, you understand that he is less concerned with educating the viewing audience then allowing the possibility for Krishnamurti to absorb the blessings of Rinpoche's "unstruck sound". All through this interview, although Krishnamurti is speaking the pith tea chings, Rinpoche sits in their essential meaning. Krishnamurti seems either ignorant or dismissive of that presence, and seems to radiate a certain hubris of erudition. Those who get it...
